Buddies & Bobbers Learn-to-Fish Fishing Derby
Are you an adult age 50+ with fishing experience? If so, we invite you to join For All Ages for our 2021 Buddies & Bobbers Learn-to-Fish Fishing Derby on May 22 in collaboration with and on-site at Winding Trails in Farmington.Teams of young and experienced anglers will be treated to a free continental breakfast and lunch, and the youth will have the chance to win fun prizes.
This innovative, free event will pair 20 experienced angler volunteers age 50+ with 20 children ages 6-12, accompanied by a parent or guardian. This will be a morning of nature-based fun, conservation education, intergenerational connection and competition, and we are seeking adult volunteers to mentor youth during this event. If interested, we invite you to download and complete our volunteer application at forallages.org/fishing-derby. Fishing licenses are not required.
Intergenerational connection has the power to change lives and communities, and For All Ages is committed to creating programs that give older adults the opportunity to share their wisdom and experience. Events like Buddies & Bobbers also improve young people’s social skills, self-esteem and perceptions of older adults.
