• CCSU & University of Hartford offer Student Led Marketing Plans

CCSU and University of Hartford marketing students, led by Professor Brian Jud, create custom marketing plans for the Granby-Simsbury Chamber members at no cost. This is a great opportunity to get fresh, objective input on your business with minimal time commitment on your end.

    What's Involved
Student teams will research your business and develop a written marketing plan. In late November, two teams will present their findings directly to participating members.

    What You Get
    ·    Free professional-level marketing consulting
    ·    An objective, outside perspective on your business
    ·    Market research and competitive insights
    ·    Customer insight and analysis
    ·    Actionable marketing recommendations
    ·    Strategic planning support
    ·    Exposure to students as potential interns or future hires

    Why It's Worth Your Time
Beyond the marketing plan itself, this is a chance to build a relationship with the university, including access to career fairs, panel presentations, and Handshake for future recruiting.

"As the owner of CT Travel Goddess, I don't have a marketing department, so having a team of CCSU marketing students dig into my business was incredibly valuable. They brought a fresh, outside perspective I wouldn't have gotten otherwise, real market research, and practical recommendations I could actually use. The time commitment was minimal, but the insights were substantial. I'd recommend this program to any small business owner looking for a smart, no-cost way to sharpen their marketing strategy."

    Who's a Good Fit
This program is best suited for small businesses that need marketing help but don't have a marketing department of their own. Several of our members are already involved: Heather Conley, Kathy Ungerleider, and Traci Egan are current clients in Professor Jud's class this semester.

    How Many Spots Are Available
Typically 3 companies per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer), though additional instructors may join the program soon, potentially opening it up to more of our members over time.

    How to Apply
There's no application form. Professor Jud will talk with interested members directly to understand their goals and see if it's a good fit. So far, no one has been turned away.
    Deadlines
    ·    Fall: August 1 (earlier is better)
    ·    Spring: October 1
    ·    Summer: May 1
